It is with great regret that I have to announce the passing of one of our great APL community members Dick Bowman. Dick was very active in APL for many years and many of you will remember him for his sharp wit and keen observations. Dick was always willing to say things how they were and let us know what he thought about all things APL. He made a great contribution to the APL we know and love today.
Sadly, Dick’s health went downhill over the past year or so, but he remained active in APL right to the end.
Dick will be missed by us at the BAA and we pass on our thoughts and best wishes to his family and friends at this sad time.
We will remember Dick with great fondness and respect.
Paul is the Chairman of the BAA.
Paul started out as a keen engineer constantly tinkering with engines and motorcycles. At university he studied Mechanical Engineering and went on to work with British Aerospace on various fast jet projects but in particular the ‘man machine’ interface. He became interested in the use of computers in real world situations and was particularly successful in putting his engineering and interfacing experience to such use.
